Not sure what type of ceremony to go for? Don’t worry, you aren’t the first and you certainly won’t be the last. Here at Woolverstone Hall we have a number of ceremony options for saying the big “I do”. Whether you’re looking for an intimate affair or a larger gathering, we have plenty of perfect options for you to choose from, so let’s explore those options a littler further!

Church Ceremony

We are fortunate enough to have a beautiful 19th Century flint Parish church situated on the grounds of Woolverstone Hall, which is ideal if you’re looking to have a religious ceremony for up to 150 guests. St Michael’s Church is just a short stroll from the mansion, so after the all important vows and confetti shot, you can lead your guests from the church as newly-weds, towards Woolverstone Hall for your reception. What a romantic way to begin your wedding day!

If you’re interested in holding a Church Ceremony as part of your Woolverstone wedding, please get in touch and we can put you in contact with St Michael’s Church.

Our classic drawing room, The Leggett Room is fully licensed for ceremonies for up to 75 guests; With its ornate ceiling, paneling and grand piano, it’s an elegant setting extremely popular amongst our couples. The tall sash windows cast a view to the River Orwell and make for a perfect ceremony setting, whether Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter!

Another option is our Orangery which can accommodate ceremonies of up to 120 guests. The curved, glass fronted space provides panoramic views across our grounds to the river. The windows and traditional lantern roof create a beautiful, light and airy space overlooking the idyllic views Woolverstone has to boast and is the largest licenced space within the Mansion.

If you’re looking for something a little larger though, for ceremonies up to 400 guests we even have our Sports Hall. Fully licensed for ceremonies and a short walk away from the mansion, this is the perfect solution for those looking for a large ceremony and celebration!

Outdoor Ceremonies

If you’re dreaming of an outdoor ceremony, that’s certainly an option at Woolverstone Hall! With Acres of grounds and some of the best river views in Suffolk, what better than an outdoor ceremony at Woolverstone? While we do not hold a licence for an outdoor ceremony, that doesn’t mean to say your marriage won’t be legally binding! You can host a non-legal, blessing style ceremony outside at Woolverstone, giving you complete freedom in location. You can opt to have the ceremony lead by a registrar or celebrant, or even a close friend or family member! And you have complete flexibility over wording. To make it legal, you are then required to head inside to one of our licenced spaces with a registrar to complete the legal portion of the ceremony. Or you could even complete this portion of the ceremony on a different day, at a registry office. For flexibility and a truly personal experience, a non-legal ceremony is a fantastic option.
